I love Olon! The people

I love Olon! The people are always gracious and helpful. The coastline is beautiful with an extensively wide, sandy beach for walking, playing sports and sunning. The ocean is warm, perfect for swimming, playing and surfing. There are a variety of restaurants to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The whole vibe in Olon is muy tranquilo! The biggest problem in Continue Reading… “I love Olon! The people”

Olon is the best!! We have travelled all over the country and our favourite place is Olon/Montañita/Manglaralto. Why? Three beautiful beaches minutes apart, great restaurants and wonderful, friendly people! We support the local stores and trucks selling food & goods through the town. One cannot find a lovelier beach area. We enjoy walking from Olon to Montañita beach and then Continue Reading… “Ecuador Traveller”

Ecuador Coastie

I live in Santa Marinita about 2.5 hours up the coast and I love it here, but I also love Olon. I visit regularly and have enjoyed stays at Rincon d’Olon and the Sea garden House and highly recommend both of them. There is little that I would change, but I could do without the mid-town loudspeaker most of the Continue Reading… “Ecuador Coastie”

Fantastic beach with great facilities including

Fantastic beach with great facilities including Umbrella/ chair rentals. The lunch Cabanas were ideal for lunch and happy hour. We never missed a sunset! We felt safe here with no threat of theft.

If you’re ever in Olon — wake up early, go to the beach…

If you’re ever in Olon — wake up early, go to the beach and walk all the way to the cliff on the left. Climb the rocks, go to the outermost part and stare away into the sea. I believe there are few places in the world that can make you feel the peace this place does. It’s a place I always come back to. A multitude of food huts are available for you to taste Ecuador’s amazing seafood, as well as cocktails and beer. Don’t miss out on the patacones: an obligatory appetizer, and don’t forget to taste cold & fresh coconut water straight out of the fruit, which will suit you just right in Olon’s tropical weather. As the sun begins to set, lay down on the sand, watch the surfers ride the waves and a magic palette of colors appear in the sky. More than one source of music from the cocktail huts can be loud and annoying on the beach if you decide to spend your day close to the center of the town’s shoreline; which is why I’d recommend moving a little to the left — there’s less people and much less noise. But if for some reason you’re tired of peacefulness, Montañita (Ecuador’s party town) is just a 3 minute cab drive away.

Olon is a peaceful beach

Olon is a peaceful beach where you can have a rest if you wanna escape from city or noisy places like Montanita Beach. It is surrounded by nature and is close to other beaches like Ayampe and Puerto Lopez, Los Frailes and Isla de la Plata where you can go to to do snorkelling. Waves from Olon are good for surfers too 🙂

Olon is the perfect place to relax and feel welcomed by the locals. It has a beautiful beach to walk along or play in the water. Numerous choice of places to eat and have a drink. The town comes alive in the evenings with people in the streets, charcoal cookers and people enjoying the town square. Its a happy place with a sence of community and a safe feel. We are looking forwad to returning soon.

We stayed in Olon for

We stayed in Olon for 2 months and had a blast. We stayed for 1 month at Bambino Hostal right at the beach. Great cooling breeze from the windows. Great view. Then in a 2 bedroom apartment. We used local buses to get around. Which only cost $1.80 to get to La Libertad. .90c for my husband. Great place to live. Will go back. Many great beach restaurants to go to. Expats meet at Jerry’s cabana on Saturday mornings. Sunsets wonderful

I love the positive growth I have seen in the last three years. Excellent restaurants, friendly people,
and one of the finest beaches in Ecuador.

I love Olon for the beautiful beaches, wide variety of restaurants and friendly people. It’s a great place for families with lots of activities close by. We love the beach cabanas for drinks in the afternoon and then dinner one of our favorite places. Clean, welcoming and always fun!

Ecuador Coastie

I live in Santa Marinita about 2.5 hours up the coast and I love it here, but I also love Olon. I visit regularly and have enjoyed stays at Rincon d’Olon and the Sea garden House and highly recommend both of them. There is little that I would change, but I could do without the mid-town loudspeaker most of the time. As I finish the responsibilities that I have up here in Santa Marianita I am seriously considering a move to Olon.

We enjoy walking from Olon to Montañita beach and then onto Manglaralto. We have many friends there and love the water for swimming. The area had grown and improved since our first time there four years ago. Looking forward to making it our home!
